This past week has been very busy for me at work! I am glad the work is picking up though, it makes my days go a lot faster!

Erin has been staying busy with work as well. He has be traveling a little to nearby cities but no major out of town travel lately. He is still enjoying his job and his co-workers! For those of you that heard he did apply for a job in Cincinnati recently, however, he was not offered the position.

Yesterday Kale was sent home from daycare with a fever, we were hoping he wasn't catching something that would keep him down all weekend. Today he seemed to be doing much better. His fever came back this morning but he was good as new with a dose of Tylenol. He didn't want any more medicine this afternoon and his fever didn't seem to come back so hopefully he will stay well!

Today was the Grand Re-Opening of Prairie Hills Nursery so we went there to look around and eat lunch. Erin is currently trying to sign them up as Amsoil Dealers so they can sell the AgGrand in the Nursery (and possibly use it) so we thought it would be nice to go their celebration today. Kale really like the trees, flowers, and the fountain of course!

This afternoon we spent most of the day outside in the yard. We pulled weeds, planted tomatoes and peppers in our garden, and also tore out an old fence and replaced it with a new one on the west side of the garage. It looks much better now! I will try and remember to get a picture posted!

The neighbors were outside with us today for part of the time as well. Kale enjoys playing with them and they enjoy coming over and playing on our swing set as well. The favorite thing that Kale likes to do right now is jump on the trampoline with the kids. Here is a clip of his (more wrestling with Bryson than jumping but still cute)!

This evening we were going to take Kale with Bryson, Brody, Emily, Jon, Steph and Mike to Jumpin' Jays here in town and let them play on the inflatable toys but of course the one night we choose to go there they closed early! So Kale and I decided to go to the park and hang out for a little while by ourselves. He had a great time playing and climbing on all the toys!

Grandma Swanson's 80th Birthday

This weekend we drove to Topeka to see my parents, sister (and her family) but also to go to Grandma Swanson's 80th Birthday party. It was a great time, many of her closet friends and family were able to make it to the celebration! Here are a few pictures! This is the water pump that I used to pump water from when I was a kid! We couldn't get water out of it this time, but it really worked when I used to be his age! :)

Tanganyika Egg Hunt 2010

Today we decided that we would take the boys to the Wildlife park in Goddard, Tanganyika. They had an Easter Egg hunt for the kids then they could walk through the zoo as well. Kale has never really done a big hunt like that before. It was quite an experience for both of us. There were hundreds of kids and parents (he was in the 1-3 age group). When they said go he was pretty overwhelmed with all the charging kids (as I was as well), but after a few min he started to figure out what he was doing and really embrace the hunt! He ended up getting a good amount of eggs. In the eggs had little prizes they kids could go and claim. Kale won a Dinosaur mask, he loves to wear it around now! After the hunt we walked around to see all the animals. Kale loves the giraffes but they were not cooperating with us, so he didn't get to feed them. The Lorikeet's were great fun. We got to go in a feed them. Kale was a little nervous when they were all over him, but he did a great job.

We also had a great time riding the camel! We have been trying to get Kale to ride the camels with me for years now and he finally decided today was the day. So mom and Kale rode Charlie the camel! It was a lot fun!

All in all it was a great day, we really enjoy having Tanganyika so close to our home, it is a little more expensive but for the amount of interaction the kids get it's totally worth it! Maks even had fun feeding the birds and petting the animals!

Maks

In the past few weeks Maks has decided that he wants to start moving around by himself. He just started crawling and in no time at all he was getting around the house faster than we could keep track of him! Within 2 days of learning to crawl he started trying to cruise the furniture as well! He is going to be a busy one!

Here is a picture of Maks at Grandma and Grandpa Dreiling's house with his Uncle Michael. He decided that he wanted some of crackers, so he just crawled right over and started begging!

Our Garden

This year I decided to plant a garden! Kale really enjoyed helping me plant flowers in the front yard, so I decided that it would be a good year to try and grow a few things with him in a garden. This turned out to be quite a project since we have never had a garden at our house! Since we are not going to put up the pool this year I thought I would just till up the dirt where the pool has sat in the past years. This is that part that turned out to be MUCH harder than I had planned! Last year I bought a small 31cc tiller to use in a small flower garden that I made, turns out this is not something that is useful when trying to till up a portion of your yard for the first time! After getting around the edge of my 16' x 16' area a few times the tiller overheated and stopped working! I ended up going next door and getting the neighbors 5 HP tiller to finish the job! Oofff What a difference! It sure got the job done, but it was quite a workout! Once I finally got the ground ready for planting Kale and I were excited to put in the first few plants! We got them out there and Erin and Kale put up a fence around the edge (hoping to keep the dogs out).

This was Maks contribution to the garden!

So far we had Cabbage, Spinach, Peppers, Tomatoes, and Lettuce. We will see how everything turns out in a few months!(this picture was taken before I had everything planted)

4th Anniversary

Erin and I celebrated our 4th Anniversary today. We didn't do anything special during the day since we both had to work. I had to take Maks to a follow-up Dr.'s appointment for his Ears over my lunch break. Erin spent his lunch break at his annual dental check-up! So no lunch date for us! After work, we had Grandma and Grandpa watch the boys while we went to dinner together to celebrate. We ate at Marcella's (Italian Restaurant here in Hutchinson). We really enjoy eating there but don't get there to often!
Erin also surprised me with a new necklace! Here is a picture of it close up. I really love it!
